Are these things treats? I think they ARE treats but I admit they are doughy and somewhat bland. My Italian Grandmother calls them "roll around the finger cookies" and they have been a favorite of mine for years.
We have them every year for Christmas as well as other Italian cookies like, birdsnests, coconut balls, nut rolls, powdered sugar fig things, and cherry coconut balls.
Are any of these treats? I'm not sure and admittedly though I love them, I think not.
Why aren't Italian cookies treats?
They seldom if ever have chocolate. They lean too heavily on powdered sugar. I think they rely too much on the cookie dough...which is usually kinda plain (but good) Ainse...need I say more?
I am extremely sensitive to sugar. I can feel it rushing through my body after I eat a big time treat. people say i may have a problem but i decided to take back the problem and turn it into a blog.
